You have the perfect parents for your soul’s growth and evolution in this lifetime.

Your parents may not be perfect human beings, as they too are souls on this journey of life and are here to learn lessons like you.

Relationships with parents can be some of the most challenging and difficult to navigate.

Ask yourself: What are the lessons that your soul is seeking to learn with them?

They give birth to you, raise you, and impact so much of who you become.

They simply did the best that they knew how to do at that time of their lives, even though it may not have been what you wanted.

It’s highly unlikely they woke up each day thinking about how they could cause you the most suffering. Likely they were in pain themselves.

Hurt people tend to HURT other people, and the cycle continues.

You can break the cycle and take your power back.

In order to do so, you must be willing to take full responsibility for who you are and how you feel as an adult today.

You are not a victim.

You hold the lock and you hold the key. If they hurt you deeply, forgive them and set them free. Forgiveness is an ultimate act of taking your power back.

Holding on to anger never changes what happened in the past, it only keeps you stuck in the present and limits your future.

Forgiveness is the gift you give yourself.

Consider that today, your parents OWE you nothing. Sure, it would be nice if they treated you exactly how you wished for. But expecting them to be a certain way that they aren’t only causes you suffering.

So ACCEPT them completely as they are and as they aren’t. You only suffer when you try to change them to be what you want them to be. This will only cause you much frustration and resentment.

They are what they are, and they were that way before you were born.

When you stop expecting things from them that they can never give you, you become available to whatever they are able to give you.

If you love your parents, then simply LOVE them. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter who is right or wrong, what matters is how much you loved.

So make the most of every moment you have with them, as they won’t be around forever.

Focus on the love not your differences.

Seek to really understand them not just be understood.

Honor and bless them for what they did give you.

They gave you the most precious gift of all, Life itself.

This is an excellent video blog post: spot on, profound (and more helpful than the advice that is usually given by university trained mainstream western secularised psychiatry/psychologies/psychotherapies).

Very grateful for this post: it came at just the right time it was needed.

Thank you very much for your work.
