What do you need to let go of from your past that no longer serves you?

Holding onto your past limits your ability to be fully present in the present. But we often hold on because it feels comfortable and familiar. We hold on because we want to be right. We hold on because it sometimes seems safer.

It’s easy to judge your past, especially things you did that you wish you hadn’t. Or people you were once in relationship with.

Judging yourself for your past gives the past more power, and simply keeps you stuck there.

To let go of the past, it’s important to accept it and to THANK it. Give thanks for the experience and bless it. This frees you from being it’s prisoner and creates openness to receive the gift that your past has for you.

Your soul needed to go through certain experiences to grow and evolve. More important than what you went through in your past is that you learned the soul lessons those experiences were seeking to teach you.

Life cares about your growth and evolution more than your comfort. So long as you are growing, you are successful.

You are not a victim of anything from your past.

Just because you made your bed, doesn’t mean you have to continue lying in it.

I am not denying that things may have happened that you had no control over at the time or were incredibly painful. However, today you get to choose what you make those experiences mean, and what actions you take from this moment forward.

It’s important to make a choice to not indulge the story or negativity about your past. No matter how much you complain or cry, it won’t change what has already happened. It won’t bring back a person or relationship. Nothing you do in this moment will change what has already been done. But everything that you do in this moment will change your future.

Your past only has as much power as you give it. Focus on what is in your power to control now.

You hold the lock and you hold the key to set yourself free.

So don’t avoid or run away from the painful emotions from your past as this will only keep you stuck. This will likely lead to you recreating situations over and over again in your life rather than moving on.

What you run from will run you.

So face and feel whatever feelings you haven’t dealt with. All feelings fully felt will dissolve. No feelings last forever, unless you suppress them.

When you stop resisting whatever happened, and move into acceptance, it’s only then that you can truly let it go.

Nothing and no one is worth your freedom.

Life is short.

Each moment is precious.

Let go of what no longer serves you and give yourself permission to celebrate the life you have.

Accept what was.

Feel what is.

Choose what is going to be.

It’s the choices you make today that will shape your tomorrow.

What do you want your tomorrow to look like?

You have the power.

    THANK YOU Kute!
I’m going through a tragic loss that happened in January. All the stuff from the past is coming up right along with it. Your message today was just what I needed. Perfect timing. Love you.

I tried to go through the emotions but I’m still feeling the loss of my ex-gf. Our communications have been scarce, but today she told me she has a boyfriend…and it hurts/distracts. Focusing on now helps not to feel the hurt. But what is the balance between facing and feeling it versus accepting and letting go? (It’s been 6 months! I can’t believe I’m still grieving!) again, today’s been painful, and your message was very timely. No coincidence, huh! Thank you.

Hi Shant, if I may share what I’ve learned from my own experience…

what is the balance between facing and feeling it versus accepting and letting go?

When we allow ourselves to face and feel and bring our feelings to completion the letting go and acceptance is the inevitable presence you’ll be in out of that. Think of it as being on a road driving to the destination you need to go through a certain route or path in order to reach it. So too is the process of feeling out our feelings and bringing them to completion. Then the letting go, the release and then the acceptance. This is the clearing and healing process. Once we’ve done the work of feeling, clearing healing then the wallowing indulging victimizing isn’t present, we have move onward…also we all have our pace… there’s no necessary time frame. If you are feeling uncomfortable though then it’s a signal that your mind and body are giving you.. so observe and commit to do the work necessary… just thought I share with a fellow Armenian brother. This is such a HUGE issue for humanity right now! I think it’s one of the most important issues of all…and this process we are all going through collectively AND on a personal level, is the key to our much-needed evolution to our higher potentials (ie. instant forgiveness, tolerance of “differences”, and ultimately total peace and living as One Love).

That said…I can say with all certainty that it’s truly been one of the most painfully stubborn processes in my own life! Tricky, too! Just when I think I have let something go, here it comes again, poking and prodding and irritating the bejeezus out of me, and sometimes I can instantly see it’s yet another opportunity to refine and/or intensify and strengthen my ability to accept ALL situations and peoples…and at others I’m just too tired and grumpy and sensitive to want to do the release-forgiveness work in that moment.

Nonetheless, everything you have laid out here is all too right, and I appreciate the absolute passion and conviction and good old fashioned fire-and-brimstone (forgive me, but it’s true, in the best possible way!) wake-up call you have served us today.

I think this topic is one that we will probably deal with many times in the coming years…keep up the awesome work, and thank you!

Kute, Love you man, your passion and boundless enthusiam for life.
Yes this is indeed a powerful video for many reasons, most important I discovered is the fact that each moment can be a new beginning only when we let go of the past. I thoought many times that this is a new beginning; this day, this experience, this moment, yet I realized through this video that unless I truly let go to the moment without any thoughts of the past, I just might be repeating this moment on some level.

It is powerful because with the awareness , the acknowledgement of the past and the commit to letting it go every moment carries with it a new beginning, a new journey, a new experience to live and learn from.

    Much love,,,,

Sometimes the past feels like a Godfather movie. “Every time I get out, they pull me back in.” But it is worth the fight to stay free. Painful? Yes. But worth every step I take in mind, body, and spirit.

I am having counselling at the moment about my past, because it’s holding me back from being able to move forward in my life, and especially with relationships. I have just been introduced to your teaching videos, and have found them speaking to me a lot, in so many of the situations I’m experiencing, especially this video. I am finding it so very difficult to find my true self again, and to feel worthy, and comfortable with who I am.
I am so pleased I have been introduced to your teaching videos, I hope they will help me alongside the counselling I’m having.
I will certainly recommend you to my family and friends.
