Art is not just something on piece of paper. Or in a museum.
It is your life.
Deep within you is a calling, a gift that you’re uniquely here to express. I believe there’s a higher purpose for which you are born, beyond eating, sleeping, and sexing. Something beautiful and profound.
Musicians play with instruments. Artists create with tools. Flutes, drums, guitars, reeds, chimes, pots and pans, wooden spoons, pens, paper, clay, metal, cloths, paints, brushes, elephant dung. It’s all up for grabs. But the true “artists” of life—let’s call them “lifists” create with their hearts. It doesn’t matter if you’re a musician, a waiter, a parent, a teacher or a mechanic. It doesn’t matter if you’re pouring coffee, scrubbing floors, trading shares, or coaching kids on the playground. You can be walking, sitting, speaking or meditating. It’s not “what” you do, but “how” and “where” you do it from. Are you connected? Is your heart in tune? Are you a heartist?
At any moment you can create magic. At any moment you can do something different from what you have done. We often think that we are stuck doing what we are doing. But any moment you can shake it up.
It has become very fashionable to “model” successful people these days. You can create some success by copying other’s formula. But I want to urge you to let go of what you know. Let go of someone else’s road map.
Blaze your own trail. Trust and open so deeply to the innate intelligence of Life within you.
Often we hold onto the known ways of doing things because they seemed to be working, either for us or someone else. But we feel uninspired.
There are deeper dreams dancing within your soul, for a reason.
Just because what you want to do has never been done before, it does not mean it cannot be.
Dare ecstasy.
Defy gravity.
Transcend what people tell you is impossible.
Especially those who have never done what you are seeking to.
For a moment, throw away all the 7 step how-to books, success formulas, mental strategies. And FEEL deeply what is most authentically seeking to express through you.
Not anyone else. YOU.
Deep within your heart there is something magical that wants to be given birth to through you. It is the force of Life itself seeking to express through you.
SO:
-Let go of any judgements of what your life creation looks like.
-Embrace “failure” with delight as a learning opportunity that brings you one step closer.
-Get radically curious about everything.
-Don’t take yourself too seriously.
-Let go of control.
Jesus didn’t take a weekend workshop on branding.
Buddha didn’t go to Buddha Academy.
Miles Davis was not trying to sounds like The Beatles.
They just dared to let go. And dove fully into now. They embraced the unknown. They threw out the rules of what things were supposed to look like so that the authenticity of their lives could emerge.
People all around the world felt it.
Anything great or revolutionary that has evolved humanity forward, was not done by copying something from the safety of the past. The past is dead.
Feel this moment as deeply as you can.
Let it move you.
And find out what happens.
An artist must excavate his art from his heart.
Your heart is your paintbrush.
The entire universe is your canvas.
Your life is your art.

I have profound respect for jesus. I grew up in the church. My father has 300 of them. And i grew up preaching since age 8. I am still very inspired by what he stood for, embodied and realized.
So many people today are simply copying others. To me Jesus and the greats of the world, dared to boldly know who they were and without apology live that. He was a true original and revolutionary.
We are missing some of this originality sometimes in our world today.
Jesus was fearless in their authenticity. This is my point, in my way, that I am playfully offering. Be fearless in your authenticity. He was not trying to copy someone else. He was totally surrendered to The Divine, and let himself be lived completely by THAT force which is living everything.
What we are at the core can never die neither can it be born. Our spirit is eternal, infinite, and Timeless.

Lynn, I don’t think he meant for that to be takeng literally. Idea of article is to follow your own path and not always follow other leaders, people in history. Of course Jesus lives in the heart, but there needs to be some originality in people’s lives that go beyond great leaders and their input. I always love how angry the world gets by some little slogan like Jesus is dead and then miss the entire message because they feel empowered by blowing up! I couldn’t agree more with your message, besides the fact Jesus was a man just like me and you but most will not even dare to put themselves in that same category. Wonderful piece! I too work with others on life healing and spiritual work – finding ones own journey in life and releasing the old belief systems that no longer serve.
I see so many clients in chronic pain or chronic illness because they feel trapped by following someone else’s path rather than having the courage to dream and create their own journey.
My passion is seeing someone finally “get it” and realize that they are the true artist of their own lives and once they rid themselves of ego, fear and judgment, then they can paint their masterpiece! But, we must remember that this “masterpiece” is a living, organic process that requires our daily commitment to its design and beauty – there is no room or time for complacency or pause.
The key is releasing the fear and truly embracing the responsibility of dreaming, creating and living ones own Universe, believing that we are indeed part of the All That Is and as such, we are in fact, One – what incredible, loving power and light that generates.

Kute – what do you say to those that say I might be able to surrender to the moment but the mortgage company doesn’t necessarily live in the moment with me. I see many people who are trying to do exactly as you say and yet they are financially suffering and wondering if all the spiritual hoopla is just that – feeling better while you are poor.

When you are truly living on purpose and in alignment with your reason for being here now, your mortgage will no longer be an issue. When we move fully into our purpose, the unique reason we showed up on this planet here and now, the resources we need to sustain us are magnetic.
Is it possible that the people you see who are trying to do what Kute has indicated are not really doing it — they are trying, yes, but are they doing it and being it? Probably not.
The great news is that it is never too late to get purposeful in life.

Surrender to total authenticity of who you are which is Divine. And express that yes.
AND. key word. AND. create a practical gameplan in the physical world which we are living in.
Many people go into a spiritual LALA LAND and surrender but then just sit there. i would say once you surrender to who you are, then surrender to taking actions needed to bring forth the spiritual vision given to you. BUT, those actions need to be aligned and effective rather than inconsistent and non directed.
The surrender doesn’t excuse laziness or nonaction. My intention with this blog is to inspire people to dare to be so authentic to who they are that perhaps they even surprise themselves in the next moment.
If you are currently working a job because you haven’t figured out what form your gifts need to take, OK, but do it in a way that is ART. How can you make your work, no matter what it is, ART? If you need to deal with the mortgage company as you mentioned, well you can collapse around the issue but that won’t help, so perhaps you can deal with them as a ART. What would that look like?
All the greats took whatever life threw at them like play dough and reshaped it into something magical. Eat as art. Make love as art. Drive as art. Walk as art. Sleep as art. Fight as art. Drive as art. Vacuum as art. Type as art.

I can attest to the artistry of life on a couple of levels. I’ve always viewed my life as a canvas, but for many years I thought “I” was the artist. When I painted from this place my life was like good commercial art – flashy and interesting, bold and adventurous, but lacking in depth, subtlety, sophistication and ultimately in satisfaction as well. Of such realizations are Dark Nights of the Soul born.
Three years ago I learned two things. The first was, “I am not my story.” This is an incredibly liberating insight that helps to shake the shackles of ego from the soul. The second awareness was, “’Surrender’ does not mean ‘capitulate’, it means ‘become one with’”. For me, those learnings were the key to opening my heart and letting life live me.
A year ago I reconnected with my Twin Flame, in a reunion that shook the foundations of the universe. She is awake, and she is an artist in both painting and life. Together we have become Love – her yin and my yang; she the Artist, I the Muse; I am Odysseus, she is Penelope. Love is the food we eat, the air we breathe, the smile of the Buddha, the body and blood of the Christ Within.
The painting of our life is now rich with the subtle fractals of Love, Learning and Liberation. A masterpiece is flowing out from our fingers, joining the fabric of the universe that has no beginning and no end.

I think this is where even our education system comes in..you talk about conditioning, how society conditions us..e.g. my friends all have degrees (and so do I) but then when we graduate from University with our transcripts, there’s that added pressure to then study a Masters Degree, and so on and so on..when does it all end!! I mean yes Jesus or Buddha didn’t attend Universities but they made their mark on the world, they lead people into spirituality and practised healing, etc…
