How to have the best Holiday season ever!
-
Be of service: Take the focus off of yourself. Sometimes we are so fixated on ourselves. Solely focusing on yourself is a very lonely path. The fullness of life is in relationship. So rather than mope around and feel sorry for yourself or be stuck in loneliness, dedicate yourself to serving those around you. Whether it is friends, family, or the homeless. Be of service this season.
-
Take time to nourish and nurture yourself: Sometime in the hustle and bustle of the holiday mayhem, we stay so busy that we end up needing a holiday after the holidays are done! Make sure you take some time to unplug from the everyday routine. And do things that you typically don’t do. This has the power to reinvigorate and reenergize you. Give yourself the gift of nourishment. Spend time in silence. Feed your soul and not just your stomach. Most of the year we are busy talking. In doing so we sometimes lose the connection to our core. To our spirits. This holiday season, make the time for silence. This helps you get in touch with your inner spirit.
-
Do something different: We often get caught up in a routine. Doing the same things over and over again.
-
Let go of anything that is incomplete from the past year: Review the past year and cultivate gratitude.
-
Set the vision and intention for the next year.
-
Move your body: walk, exercise, dance, just move it!
- Accept your family: If you want to see how enlightened you are, visit your family! Some of us are fortunate to have amazing relationships with our families. However, many are not. Holiday seasons where you might be spending a lot of time with your family can bring up old issues. Accept your family exactly as they are. And give up demanding that they change. This makes you responsible for your experience. Either you choose to continue engaging with them or you choose not to if it no longer works for you. But you are no longer a victim. They are not causing your suffering, your expectation of who they should be is. Give it up. Let it BE.
